The thing to do is nothing, but nothing feels horrible

I found this more than a tad racist. However, it still had good insights.

“For the white working class, having had their morals roundly mocked, their religion deemed primitive, and their economic prospects decimated, now find their very gender and race, indeed the very way they talk about reality, described as a kind of problem for the nation to overcome. This is just one aspect of what Trump has masterfully signaled as ‘political correctness’ run amok, or what might be better described as the newly rigid progressive passion for racial and sexual equality of outcome, rather than the liberal aspiration to mere equality of opportunity.”

Speaking of Trump, why does the campaign that keeps merrily retweeting white supremacists attract so many Nazis & white supremacists?

Still speaking of Trump-related things, you need to read this about Assad’s war crimes. Like, insane. Nazi-level shit is happening right now in the world. And I don’t know what to do about it. I mean I think the thing to do is nothing, or private action. But I definitely get why people want to intervene. It’s horrifying.

“The most effective way to undermine someone’s empowerment is to pronounce their freedom an illusion.” Polyamorous women aren’t just ‘pleasing their man’ – it’s a choice via Nick Ford.

I don’t think poly is for everyone. But I do think it’s a powerful strike against patriarchy for women to unapologetically state that monogamy and love are no more inextricably linked for women than they are for men. Women, in fact, tire of monogamy more quickly than men. Further, I think we get beyond much of this male-soothing superstition around sex when we adopt a sex-positive attitude. When we say not only does sex not necessarily mean love, but it doesn’t necessarily mean anything. It is morally neutral.

RICO is bullshit. Instead of legalizing selling sex and drugs and thereby removing the violence from their production and sale, government decided to make moving around (another victimless crime) illegal. “RICO is for mobsters, not #Marketplace lenders. Let’s fix the laws to protect consumer choice.” -@BrianRKnight

Sorry about no newsletter on Friday. How was your weekend? Mine was so good my roommate texted me this morning that my boyfriend has been spending the night too often. So, pretty awesome.
