Sometimes you don’t know how you’re going to feel. Yesterday’s post was about how megalomaniac, corrupt politicians are nothing new. And that’s true. But I wrote it under the impression that Clinton would win and Trump was just a very terrifying reminder that misogyny, xenophobia, and racism were still potent forces in the American consciousness. Today, I regret being so flippant. I’m afraid.
Trump won because of whites. No one was surprised at to see white men voting for Trump. But even I underestimated how effectively women have been taught to hate women, to punish each other for trying to take a man’s place.
Some are trying to blame “Leftist Political Correctness” for Trump’s win. Make no mistake, Trump won because America’s voters hate women and immigrants.
They hate them more than they love markets or innovation or economic growth. And that’s what liberals need to challenge. That’s the work we have to do. We need to sell liberalism.
You’re plain wrong.
A few loud supporters in our movement don’t define us as a whole. Politics Correctness has run to such a rampant degree that grown adults act like children, and it’s completely unacceptable.
For you to dismiss that is childish.
If I saw one person rob another person, but did nothing to stop it or report it, that makes me no different than the thief committing the crime. If you voted for a man who clearly believes that immigrants, brown people and women are not worthy of the same rights, freedoms and respect as white men, then you also believe that immigrants, brown people and women are not worthy of the same rights, freedoms and respect as white men. This is not political correctness, Kris. This is nothing more than an observation of the truth. So just own it.
He doesn’t believe that. That is left wing propaganda.
A great many of us didn’t really vote for Trump so much as we voted against gun control, Obama Care, the weaponization of genndet and race, and the condescending dismissal of our needs and concerns.
The vast majority of Trump voters do not have any issues with women, minorities, LGBTQ, or anyone else who wants to work hard and be successful.
